SO, IN 2012 WHEN THE INITIAL DISCUSSIONS BEGAN TO REDESIGN THE PARK, FAST-FORWARD TO MAY 2018 WHEN WE PRESENTED THE WORK SESSION TO DISCUSS A VARIETY OF CONCEPTS AND OPTIONS TO THE COUNCIL. FOR NOW UNTIL JULY 2019 THIS IS OUR SECOND WORK SESSION TO DISCUSS THE KEY AMENITIES THAT COULD BE INCLUDED IN THE IN THE PROJECT WITH THE DIFFERENT IDEAS THAT WE HAD. NOW TO JANUARY 2020 THE PARKS BOARD IN PREPARATION WITH LEAD TARA HAD A PUBLIC INPUT SESSION AT THE ROWLETT COMMITTEE CENTER WHERE 100 CITIZENS DISSIPATED AND CAME IN AND PROVIDED THEIR THOUGHTS, FEEDBACK AND OPINIONS. THE VERY NEXT MONTH IN FEBRUARY THE BOARD WAS PRESENTED WITH THE FINAL DESIGN AND WAS APPROVED DURING THE MEETING ITSELF. THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVED THE FINAL DESIGN AND PHASING PLAN WHICH BRINGS US TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY. WHICH IS, PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTION CURRENTLY $1.6 MILLION REMAINING AS FAR AS FUNDING GOES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE. WITH THAT WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT IS DEMOLITION OF FOUR EXISTING FOOTBALL FIELDS AND FENCING, EARTHWORK ON THE EXISTING BASEBALL FIELD TO ESTABLISH A GREAT OPEN LAWN REMOVING PART OF LLAMA DRIVE AND THE EXISTING PARKING LOT IN ORDER FOR US TO BUILD THE GRAND OPENING LAWN AND THEN LASTLY CONSTRUCT ANOTHER TRAIL WHICH IS WHY A BROUGHT US HERE TONIGHT. THE ONE THING I DO WANT TO EMPHASIZE IS WE WILL NOT BE REMOVING THE EXISTING HOCKEY RINK IN THE PARKING LOT GOOD THAT WILL TAKE PLACE UNTIL WE DESIGN THE NEW HOCKEY RINK WHICH I WILL TALK ABOUT LATER IN THE DATE. THE RESTROOM FACILITY WILL REMAIN WHICH WILL HOST THE HOCKEY LEAGUE IN THE WEST SIDE OF THE PARK TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE AND THE CENTRAL PARK DOG PARK WILL REMAIN AS WELL. TENNIS AND PICKLE BALL COURTS, CENTENNIAL DRIVE AND THE EXISTING DOG PARK WILL REMAIN AND WILL NOT BE TOUCHED THROUGH PHASE 1. TO MAKE THAT CLEAR TO EVERYONE. SO, AS BRAD IS GOING THROUGH HIS

PRESENTATION TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS ARE PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WE MAY CONSENT TO SOME THINGS FROM CITY COUNCIL ONE PHASE 1 PLAN FOR THE PARK WHICH IS WHAT HE WILL DISCUSS IN PHASE TO THE TYPE OF TRAIL THAT WILL BE INSTALLED IN PHASE 1. WITH THAT I'M GOING TO KNOW TURN ITOVER TO BRAD. >> THIS IS THE FAMILIAR DRAWING THAT EVERYBODY HAS SEEN A COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS IS THE APPROVED MASTER PLAN. AARON WENT THROUGH A GOOD SUMMARY OF TIMELINE THAT WE BEEN WORKING ON THIS PROJECT FOR QUITE A WHILE AND WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE DIFFERENT CONCEPTS, IDEAS AND THOUGHT. IT DID COME DOWN TO A PHASING PLAN WITH THE GOAL OF CREATING PHASE 1. PHASE 1 BEING THE NEW GREAT LAWN AND AS MUCH OF THE TRAIL OR INTERIOR AS POSSIBLE. SO, INITIALLY WHAT WE HAD WANTED TO DO WAS TO CHECK IF WE OVERLAY THE TRAIL, THIS IS THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SO GOING FROM THIS PRETTY PICTURE MASTER PLAN TO GETTING INTO THE DETAILS AND THE RADIUS IS AND HOW TO ACTUALLY BUILD THIS, WE WANTED TO OVERLAY THE TRAIL LAYOUT TO THE EXISTING ELEMENT WITHIN THE PARK. WE HAVE ALSO OVERLAID CENTENNIAL DRIVE WHICH IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE DEVELOPED BY THE DEVELOPER ON, THE NORTH IS TO YOUR LEFT SO THAT IS OUT OF THE SITE. CENTENNIAL DRIVE SOME OF THE TIMING OF THIS WAS WAITING ON SOME OF THE ENGINEERING CHANGES ON THAT. WE HAD THE ACTUAL DRAWING OF THAT AND I'M GOING TO STAND UP. IT WILL BE EASIER.
>> THE EXTENT OF CENTENNIAL DRIVE IS THE PARKING ALONG THE FACE WITH THE NEW DEVELOPMENT AND THE PARK AND TIE-IN TO CENTENNIAL DRIVE AND WILL STOP THERE SHORT OF THE PICKLE BALL COURTS AND THE DRAINAGE. SO, THIS DIAGRAM WAS SOMETHING TO TEST WHAT IS THE FUTURE PLAN AND WHAT IS IT LOOK LIKE ON TOP OF THE PARK? THESE ARE PARKING LOTS, THE BASEBALL FIELDS AND WE CAME UP WITH A COUPLE OF OPTIONS. THIS OPTION BEING, LOOKING AT SOME OF THE ELEMENTS THAT WE WANT TO KEEP IN THE PARK IN PHASE 1, KNOWING THAT PHASE 1 AND PHASE TWO AND THREE HAVEN'T BEEN DESIGNED YET THAT IN THE CONCEPTUAL PHASE, WE WERE LOOKING AT ATRIAL ALIGNMENT THAT COULD STILL BE BUILT. THIS IS YOUR LARGE TRAIL CREATING THE GREAT LAWN AND NOTICED TRAIL UP HERE WE CANNOT BUILD IT THROUGH THIS AREA YET BECAUSE OF THE EXISTING HOCKEY AREA AND BATHROOMS ARE PART OF CENTENNIAL DRIVE THAT WOULD NOT BE DEMOED PEERED WE BELIEVE THAT IS LEFT TO THIS DAY SO YOU CAN ACCESS THE RESTROOM FOR SERVICE AVAILABILITY AND ADDITIONAL PARKING IF YOU NEED IT. THIS ONE IS IN INTEGRATION SHOWING A TRAIL ABOUT A THREE MILE TRAIL USING THE EXISTING CENTENNIAL DRIVE AS A CONNECTOR. WITHIN THIS CONCEPT WE SAID YOU COULD PAINT A BIKE LANE WITHIN CENTENNIAL DRIVE, IT COULD BE TO 10 FOOT TRAVEL LANES WITHIN THAT 24 FOOT SECTION. AGAIN, THIS BEING AN INTERIM PIECE WHERE A FUTURE TRAIL WOULD TRAVEL THROUGH THE EXISTING ELEMENT THAT WOULD BE REMOVED. SOUTH OF THE TRAIL AND KEEPING EVERYTHING THE SAME, THERE IS SOME CONSTRUCTION IN THE BEAUTY WITH THE BASEBALL FIELD REGRESSING, RETURNING SOME OF THIS AREA SO THERE STILL CONSTRUCTION AT THE VIDEO BUT PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3 IS LATER. THE EXISTING DOG PARK, RESTROOM AND LIGHTING DOWN THERE STAY UNTIL PHASE 2 WOULD REFORMAT THOSE. ONE OF THE BIG DESIGN OPTIONS HERE, WE WANTED TO TALK TO ALL ABOUT AND THIS IS THE CONSENSUS WE ARE LOOKING OR. IF WE GO WITH A

CONCEPT LIKE THIS THERE'S TWO WAYS TO THINK ABOUT THIS. WE ARE BUILDING THIS TRAIL AND WERE STARTING TO PUT THIS LINE AND I WANT TO SAY IN THE SAND BUT CONCRETE. GOING TO PUT THE LINE IN THE STONE THAT THE TRAIL IS GOING RIGHT THERE THROUGHOUT PHASE 2, PHASE 3 OR WHATEVER PHASE COMES OUT AFTERWARDS. THOSE TWO PHASES HAVEN'T BEEN DESIGNED YET. ONE OF THE OPTIONS WE CAME UP WITH IS WHAT IF YOU STILL GRADED THIS TRAIL OUT WITH THIS DG PATHWAY OR WOULD IT BE SOMEWHAT TEMPORARY AND THEN PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3 CHANGED THAT LINE IN THE SAND OR THE LINE IN THE STONE AND THAT WOULD EASIER, IT WOULDN'T BE MONEY SPENT ON A TRAIL THAT KEEPS CHANGING IN THE FUTURE. POSSIBLY THE NEAR FUTURE. SO, THIS IS ONE OPTION THAT WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT. OUR NEXT OPTION IS SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHICH IS EVEN LESS INVASIVE ON THE FUTURE DESIGN IN THE CURRENT PARK. CURRENTLY, THERE IS A SIX FOOT PATHWAY THE STOPS ABOUT HERE AND THERE'S ALSO CONCRETE THAT WRAPS AROUND THE EXISTING BATHROOM AND CONNECTS INTO ONE OF THE BASEBALL FIELD AND TRAVELS UP TO THIS EXISTING PARKING LOT. WE CAME UP WITH THIS OPTION TO GIVE YOU THE IDEA THAT STILL CREATING THE RATE LAWN MODIFYING THE INTERIOR PARKING LOT AND STILL CONTINUING THE BIKE LANE BUT ALL WE WOULD NEED TO DO IS BUILD 250 FEET OF CONCRETE TRAIL. THAT PROVIDES US FLEXIBILITY FOR PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3 TO COME IN AND BUILD THE REMAINDER OF THE TRAIL IN ITS ENTIRETY WITH PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3. I CAN SPEAK TO THE BUDGET ABOUT THAT LATER. THAT THEN, THIS FLEXIBLE SPACE CAN BE WORKED WITH WITHIN THE DETAILED DESIGN AS WELL.>>> I DID CREATE A BUDGET SLIDE THINK IT WAS IN THE OTHER PRESENTATION THAT I SENT YOU. WITHIN THERE IS THE CAPABILITY OF ONE, CREATING A DIRECTION MOVING FORWARD WITH ONE OF THESE TWO OPTIONS AND THEN GOING INTO MORE DETAIL PUSHING ONE OF THESE FURTHER TO THE TRUE ESTIMATE. I BELIEVE WE WOULD BE COMING IN WITH A BALANCED MOVE FORWARD INTO PHA2, PHASE 3 AND NOT BUILDING THE SIDEWALK AT THIS TIME. EVENTUALLY EVEN THIS CONCEPT. THIS IS THE DETAIL I WANTED TO SHOW YOU TONIGHT AND TALK ABOUT DO WE WANT TO GO AHEAD AND BUILD A 12 FOOT TRAIL AROUND THE PARK AND GET CLOSER TO WHAT THE MASTER PLAN SHOWS? KNOWING THIS IS STILL AN INTERIM PHASE WITH PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3 COMING IS THIS MORE OF AN OPTION THAT WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE TO LOOK INTO A PURE DEMO AND THEN WORKING WITH SOME OF THESE EXISTING CONCRETE PIECES? THERE MAY BE THE ABILITY TO GET IN HERE IN DETAIL THAT AND SAWCUT THAT OUT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A TRAIL MORE THAN A BACKSTOP. YOU CAN GET INTO THAT DETAIL AND IT PROVIDES MORE FLEXIBILITY WITH PHASE 1 FOR PHASE 2 AND THREE.

YOU TO PRIORITIZE WHICH ONES YOU WANT DONE FIRST AND THIS IN THE AREA WE AWARDED THE ONES THAT ARE ON MILLER AND GEORGE BUSH AND THE DESIGN IS 95 PERCENT COMPLETE AND WE HAVE THE PLANS BACK TO GARBER AND AND A HALF A CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE TO DO THOSE LANES AT 1.25 MILLION. WE KNOW THAT THIS HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR THE BRIDGE CROSSING OVER THE CREEK.ANTIQUITIES HAD A PERMIT AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING COMPLETED. WE HAVE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION LOT GRANT THAT WILL GIVE US $14 MILLION. THE DOWNSIDE IS THAT WE HAVE TO DO ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS. WE HAVE TO MEET AND SO THAT DATE IS GOING TO BE PUSHED OUT TO JULY 27 IS WHEN WE ESTIMATE THE DESIGN WILL BE COMPLETE SO WE CAN BID IT OUT.
