I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, TALKING TO YOU, I TALKED TO O'BRIEN WHICH IS THE CONSULTING COMPANY HERE AND HE MENTIONED THAT EVEN IF THEY DON'T PUT ANY RETENTION PONDS THE PROPERTY WILL NOT FLOOD AND IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AND THAT'S WHAT HE SAYS OR WILL HAVE A LOT OF CONCRETE HERE BUT THE WATER WILL SLOW DOWN. THE NORTH SHORE DISTRICT SEVERAL PEOPLE MADE COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC COMMENTS AND THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THE CITY WOULD PUT THIS OUT THERE AND I THINK THERE WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING ON THEIR PART BECAUSE NORTH SHORE DISTRICT WAS PLANNED AND SET ASIDE IN THE COMP PLAN IN 1995 1996 AS THE TECHNICAL RESEARCH BUT THE TR DISTRICT IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO THAT. IT WAS THE LAST CONTIGUOUS PROPERTY TO HAVE BUSINESS AND JOBS LOCATE HERE TO MOVE US AWAY FROM 86 PERCENT OF THE TAX REVENUE ON RESIDENCE TO 60 PERCENT. TO COMPETE WITH LEGACY PARK AND PLANO, GALLATIN PARK AND THE CORRIDOR IN RICHARDSON. THAT DISTRICT ALSO WAS SET ASIDE BEFORE GEORGE BUSH WAS EVER BUILT. THAT DISTRICT EXISTED BEFORE ANY LOT WERE PLATTED AND WATER VIEWED BEFORE A SINGLE HOUSE WAS BUILT TO WATERVIEW AND BEFORE HOMESTEAD WAS EVEN DESIGNED OR MUCH LESS PLATTED AND BUILT. RESIDENTS CLAIM THAT THE PROPERTY WOULD BE DEVALUED FROM THE BUILDINGS AND FROM THE NORTH SHORE BUT THEY HAD NO PROBLEM BUILDING OR BUYING NEXT TO AN EXISTING GARLAND CITY DUMP AND LANDFILL.

THEY CLAIMED IT WOULD BE AN EYESORE EVEN THOUGH IT IS APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE TO ANY HOUSE TO THOSE BUILDINGS AND YOU CAN BARELY SEE PG BT IN THE WINTER MUCH LESS THREE OTHER SEASONS WHEN THE TREES ARE ALL LEAFED OUT IN MUDDY CREEK AREA.

THIS DEVELOPMENT HAD A CHANCE TO COST THE NORTH SHORE TO TAKE OFF AND BRING MORE JOBS, INCOME, AND TAX MONEY TO THE CITY THAT WE DON'T HAVE TWO HELP ALLEVIATE THE TAX BURDEN FROM THE RESIDENCE. AND I AM SORRY AND DISMAYED THAT SOME OF THE COMMISSIONERS DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE A STAND, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER BUT WANTED TO TABLE THIS. THEY SHOULD BE THINKING AND YOU SHOULD BE THINKING OF AN ENTIRE CITY NOT JUST A SEGMENT THAT DOES NOT WANT IT. THE LEGITIMATE COULDCOMPLAINT COULD HAVE BEEN THE TRAFFIC DOWN AT PGT.
