CLOSED ON MY FIRST HOUSE THAT I BOUGHT. AND I TAKE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY VERY SERIOUS.
SO I WAS VERY UPSET WHEN I RECEIVED A DELINQUENT NOTICE FOR MY UTILITY BILL THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN SET UP FOR AUTOPAY. SO AT THIS POINT, THIS WAS IN JUNE. ON JUNE 25TH, I RECEIVED A DELINQUENT NOTICE SAYING THAT MY UTILITY BILL WAS NOT ONE, BUT TWO MONTHS LATE BECAUSE MY MAY BILL FOR SOME REASON JUST DID NOT GET PAID.
AND THIS WAS ON. AND THEN MY JUNE BILL, FOR WHATEVER REASON, DID NOT GET PAID EITHER.
AND SO THE FIRST THING I DID WAS CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE THAT WORKED FOR THE CITY ARE GREAT.
THEY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT BECAUSE I SET MY BILL PAY FOR FIRST FOR THE FIRST, THAT SOMETIMES THOSE BILLS DON'T GO THROUGH FOR SOME REASON AND THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY. SO ALTHOUGH YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON WAS GREAT, THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY MY BILL PAY THAT WAS SET UP FOR THE FIRST DID NOT ACTUALLY GET MY BILL PAID FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE MONTHS, WHICH MEANS THAT I HAD TO ADJUST FOR MY PERSONAL ACCOUNTING FOR MY BILL, BECAUSE NOW INSTEAD OF PAYING ONE BILL, I HAD TO PAY TWO MONTH'S WORTH OF UTILITY BILL AT ONE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT MY BILL, MY UTILITIES, DID NOT GET CUT OFF BY JULY 9TH. I WAS NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT.
BILL'S JUST NOT BEING PAID EVEN THOUGH AUTOPAY IS SET UP IN THE SYSTEM, SO I DON'T LIKE TO JUST COME WITH PROBLEMS. A COUPLE OF SUGGESTIONS THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND.
I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THE CITY COUNCIL CAN DO, BUT MAYBE JUST, YOU KNOW, PUT A WARNING IN YOUR SYSTEM THAT IF SOMEBODY IS GOING TO SET UP AUTOPAY ON A SPECIFIC DATE, THEN JUST HAVE A SPLASH PAGE THAT SAYS, HEY, YOU'RE SETTING UP AUTOPAY FOR THIS DATE, BUT YOUR BILL MIGHT NOT GET PAID ON THAT DATE.
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THAT, OR SET UP A SYSTEM WHERE BILLS GET PAID ON THE DATE THAT PEOPLE SET UP, IF THEY'RE ON FIXED FINANCES. I'M NOT NECESSARILY ON FIXED FINANCES, BUT I PREFER TO HAVE MY BILLS PAID ON A CERTAIN DATE.
