THIS MEETING MAY BE CONVENED IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.

THE CITY OF ROADWAY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RECONVENE ORDER I OF BUSINESS AT ANY TIME. OUR FIRST ITEM WE WILL BE CONSIDERING IS 2A WHICH IS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.

COUNCIL WILL CONVENE TO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS AND RECEIVE LEGAL ADVICE FROM THE CITY ATTORNEY ON A LEGAL

[3A. Conduct a Joint meeting with, and receive any public comment on, the Main Street Rowlett Association. (30 minutes)]

>> WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GET STARTED BECAUSE WE'RE ALREADY RUNNING LATE. SO SORRY ABOUT THAT.

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. WE APPRECIATE IT.

I'VE TREAD ITEM INTO THE RECORD. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE A PRESENTATION OR WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.

WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE. WE INVITED YOU HERE.

WE WANT TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON AND CONTINUE TO PARTNER WITH

YOU. >> WE'D LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE MAYOR , THE COUNCIL, TO THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY AND PARKS AND REC FOR HAVING US TODAY.

THANK YOU FOR THAT FIRST OF ALL. ERIC IS OUR VICE PRESIDENT.

CHARLIE OUR SECRETARY. SCOTT IS OUR TREASURER.

MOMMA CARROLL -- >> IS SHE HERE?

>> YES. >> DON'T HIDE.

>> AND I'M THE CURRENT PRESIDENT OF MAINSTREET ROULETTE ASSOCIATION. WE'RE A 5013C.

WE'RE HERE AS AN ORGANIZATION TO HELP YOU SUPPORT BUSINESSES HERE IF DOWNTOWN. WE HOST PARTIES AN EVENTS, EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY. WE'RE LOOKING FOR THE PEOPLE DOWN HERE IS , THE MOVERS AND SHAKERS TO GET A UNIQUE FAMILY FRIENDLY DESTINATION. THESE ARE ARE A FEW BUT WE HAVE OVER 22 BUSINESSES RIGHT NOW THAT ARE PART OF OUR DESTINATION. WHEN WE LOOKED AT IT, WE DID OUR RESEARCH ABOUT OTHER CITIES. WHAT WE'RE FINDING IS PEOPLE IN THE DOWNTOWN, A PRODUCT OR A SERVICE.

PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCES.

SO YOU LOOK AT SOME OF THESE PEOPLE UP HERE, WE SEE THAT WE HAVE A GOOD MIX OF DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES.

SERING GOING TO TALK ABOUT ONE IN A MOMENT A LITTLE LATER.

I'M GOING BRIEFLY TALK ABOUT THESE TOPICS, ABOUT OUR MARKETING. ERIC IS GOING TO GO IN DEPTH IN EACH OF THESE. WE'RE LOOKING TO STREAMLINE THAT TO GET MORE COLLABORATION WITH US AND THE CITY AND EVERYTHING.

[00:05:02]

WE'LL TALK MORE ABOUT THAT IN A MOMENT.

OUR BUSINESS SUPPORT RETENTION. WE HAD AN EVENT, A WINE AND CHEESE PARTY AND SOMEONE ASKED ME WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU GUYS AND THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

WE SAID WE GIVE A DISCOUNT TO MEMBERS OF THE CHAMBER SO WE'RE PARTNERED TOGETHER. WE FEEL WE'RE STRONGER TOGETHER.

I MENTIONED WHAT WE DO AWITH THE CHAMBER.

I WAS A BOARD MEMBER AT THE CHAMBER IS TO HOLD THE CITY INVOLVED. WE WANT TO FOCUS ON ONE SMALL DISTRICT. SO WE CAN WORK TOGETHER.

THE BIGGEST THING ON RETENTION IS WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO HELP MENTOR THE NEW BUSINESS OWNERS COMING IN.

THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD LITERATURE WHAT TO DO HERE.

OVER 30 YEARS AGO I HAD A GENTLEMAN MENTOR ME FOR A YEAR.

HE TOOK ME UNDER HIS WING. EVERY MONDAY WE MET TOGETHER AND IT HELPED ME GET OFF TIE GOOD START.

THAT'S WHAT WE FEEL OUR ASSOCIATION CAN DO IS HELP MENTOR THE NEW BUSINESSES COMING DOWN THERE AND TAKE THEM STEP BY STEP THROUGH THE PROCESS. THINGS TO DO AND NOT TO DO.

EVENT, WE'RE GOING TO SPEAK MORE ABOUT THAT.

WE DO TWO EVENTS, TWO MAIN EVENTS.

WE HAVE OUR FESTIVALS, MARKET FESTIVALS AND THE FARMERS MARKET. AND THEN OF COURSE PARKS AND REC AND WHAT THEY'VE BEEN DOING AND WE FEEL BLESSED WITH ANGIE HERE AS WELL. WHAT WE LOOK ON THAT PART OF IT IS WE AS AN ASSOCIATION WANT TO GO OUT AND FIND UNIQUE BUSINESSES THROUGHOUT IN OTHER CITIES.

WHEN WE SEE DIFFERENT BUSINESSES WE WANT TO SHE THEM WHY IT WOULD BE GOOD TO TAKE SOME OF OUR VACANT SPOTS IN DOWNTOWN.

YOU NEED PEOPLE THE HAVE EXPERIENCES, NOT JUST REGULAR BUSINESSES. WE WANT SOME COOL THINGS THAT FAMILIES WANT TO COME DOWN AND SEE AS WELL.

ON OUR NEXT SLIDE I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS. THE FIRST THING THAT WE DID IS WE LOOKED AT OTHER CITIES EXAMPLES.

WE USED ROCK WE WILL. WE TALKED TO ONE OF THEIR DOWNTOWN MANAGERS. WE FOUND OUT EVEN OTHER PLACES PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCE I MENTIONED BEFORE.

SOME OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS IS THE DOWNTOWN HERE WE HAD A TASK FORCE IN 2011 THAT WAS FORMED TO HELP PLAN THE PROCESS AND DIVERSE INTEREST OF THE BUSINESS AND PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE AREA WHILE UP HOLDING THE COMMUNITY'S VISION, ESTABLISH IT TO ELSE ARE ROWLETT2020. THE FIRST AREA THAT NEEDS TO BE PRESERVED THE RAIL TRANSIT. WE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY GIVING UP OUR PENNY TO GET THE RAIL. WE HAVE IT NOW AND WE WANT TO KEEP UTILIZING IT. WE HAD TO GET THE BALL ROLLING A LITTLE BIT. SCHOOLS IS IMPORTANT.

I'M A BIG I HAVE THREE CHILDREN THAT WENT THROUGH THERE.

I LOVE THE GISD SCHOOLS. THEY ARE GREAT SCHOOLSISM THINK WE GOT THAT PART DONE. WE GOT A UNIQUE AREA WHERE HE FELT A LOT OF WATER AROUND US AND A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS WE CAN DO. WE GOT A LOT OF GOOD THINGS COMING ON BOARD HERE. PERSONAL VALUES ARE VERY IMPORTANT AS WELL. AND THE OTHER THING IS PARKS.

WE SEE WHAT ANGIE AND HER TEAM HAS BEEN DOING THAT W THAT AND OPEN SPACE IS VERY IMPORTANT. WE LOOK AT SOME OF THE OLD BUSINESS AND NEW BUSINESS ON MAIN.

WE GOT THE BANK HEAD WHICH IS REALLY COOL.

GOT NICE LITTLE BOUTIQUE DOWNTOWN, BARBERSHOP.

AND MODERN SWAIL NICE UNIQUE AREA.

IT'S HOPPING DOWN THERE. SO THE ONLY THING -- REALLY HELP OUR CITY -- HELPED OUR DOWNTOWN AREA.

IT WAS CROSS MARKETING WITH THE CITY SOCIAL MEDIA HAVE BEEN A HUGE ASSET FOR THE DISTRICT. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN THE FARMERS MARKET WAS SHARED BY PARKS AND REC IT HAD OVER 7400 PEOPLE FOUND THAT PAGE. THE CITY OF ROWLETT HAS 10,000.

WE FEEL WE HAVE MUCH POTENTIAL WHEN WE COLLABORATE TOGETHER AND

[00:10:06]

HELP -- >> STANDARD WAS 1500 FOR A

REFERENCE. >> WHAT I'M GOING TO DO NOW IS TURN IT OVER TO ERIC AND TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE AREAS WE CAN LOOK FOR IMPROVEMENT. WE'RE GOING TO SHOW POSSIBLE

SOLUTIONS AS WELL. >> AREAS TO IMPROVE AT LEAST SOME OF THE STUFF WE WERE LOOKING AT.

ONE OF THE AREAS THAT NEED SOME ATTENTION IS HOW THE NAME OF THE DISTRICT HAS CREATED SOME CONFUSION AMONG THE BUSINESSES ESPECIALLY DOWNTOWN F. OUR EXPERIENCE THE NAME IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE APARTMENTS. WHEN SOMEONE HEARS WE ARE LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF ROWLETT, THE USUAL RESPONSE IS ISN'T THAT THE APARTMENTS. OR WE ARE LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN MAINSTREET. THE RESPONSE THERE IS A DOWNTOWN ROWLETT? WE USUAL SIGH BYPASS IT AND SAY

WE'RE WE'RE ON MAINSTREET. >> THE FACEBOOK PAGE IS MARKETED AS REPRESENTING THE DOWNTOWN AREA BUT SOME OF THE POST ON FACEBOOK AND BUSINESSES LISTED ARE FOR THE DISTRICT, NOT SPECIFICALLY DOWNTOWN. WE KNOW IT'S MANAGED BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THEY ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO MAINTAIN IT. SOMETIMES IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S TRYING TO BE MORE THAN WHAT THE NAME IMPLIES.

THAT BRINGS US TO POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.

IT INVOLVES THE PHYSICAL ASPECT AND DIGITAL ADJUSTMENTS.

THE DISTRICT IS NOT DEFINED VISUALLY.

THINK OF SCHOOL ZONE, THERE ARE MARKERS THAT SHOW WHERE THE DISTRICT BEGINS AND ENDS. FOR THE DISTRICT IF WE HAVE VISUAL LANDMARKS OR SIGNS THAT TELL PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE ENTERING OR LEAVING THE DISTRICT, IT WILL START TO REENFORCE THE COMMUNITY, SEE THE DISTRICT AS THE VILLAGE AND NOT THE VILLAGE APARTMENTS. NIBBLE 2016RSM SUBMITTED A PROPOSAL TO DO JUST THAT. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE IT REVISITED AND CONSIDERED. ON THE DIGITAL SIDE A LOU US TO MAKE AT LEAST TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE VILLAGE OF ROWLETT DOWNTOWN FACEBOOK PAGE. WE WANT TO COME BOO INTHE FAN BASE WITH THAT GROUP ALONG WITH THE ROWLETT ASSOCIATION PAGE AND TURN IT INTO THE VILLAGE OF ROWLETT DISTRICT.

THEN ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT CAN CREATE A FACEBOOK PAGE DEDICATED TO ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT IN ROWLETT WHICH WILL COMPLEMENT THEIR CURRENT WEBSITE ROWLETT ON THE MOVE.COM.

THIS WILL FREE UP ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT TO FOCUS ON THEIR BUSINESS MODEL AND ALLOW US TO HELP THEM MARKET THE DISTRICT.

THE NEW DISTRICT WEBSITE FACEBOOK PAGE WOULD HAVE A CENTRALIZED LOCATION THAT HAS ALL THE EVENTS, BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY NEWS FOR THE WHOLE DISTRICT IN ONE LOCATION.

LIKE HE WAS SAYING ABOUT THE CROSS MARKETING OF THINGS, WHEN YOU ADD UP THE PARKS AND REC, CITY OF ROWLETT, VILLAGE OF ROWLETT DOWNTOWN, VILLAGE OF ROWLETT APARTMENTS, MAINSTREET ROWLETT, YOU GET A TOTAL OF OVER 24,000.

THE POPULATION OF ROWLETT IN 2018 CENSUS WAS 66,000.

IT'S ABOUT 1/4 OF THE POPULATION YOU CAN REACH IF YOU DO CROSS MARKETING. ON EVENTS, WE WANT TO ADD MORE EVENTS THAT WE HOST AS WELL. BUT WE DO TWO MAINSTREET MARKETS. THOSE ARE BY ANNUAL EVENTS TO PROMOTE LOCAL BUSINESSES. WE HAVE FARMERS MARKET WE DO MAY THROUGH SEPTEMBER. AND WE ALSO REALLY WANT TO SAY A SHOUTOUT TO PARKS AND REC. THEY DO ROUGHLY 22 EVENT A YEAR WHICH WE SAW THEY DO A LUNCH ON THE LAWNS AND THAT IS 23.

NOW IT'S 8 OF THOSE ARE DOWN IN DOWNTOWN ROWLETT.

IT'S NEAT. SO FOR US TO MARKET TO BUSINESS SUPPORT RETENTION, WE'RE LOOKING AT DOING PART OF IS IT THE MAINSTREET MARKET, SEEKING OUT SMALL BOOTHS THAT MAYBE THEY WOULD BE A POTENTIAL BUSINESS OWNER OR AT LEAST SET UP SOMETHING ON MAINSTREET WHERE THEY COULD HAVE A SHARED LOCATION AND YOU'D HAVE 4568 WOODWORKING AND THE OTHER CANDLES OR SOMETHING. OUR FOCUS IS FINDING BUSINESSES THAT CREATE AN EXPERIENCE. AN EXAMPLE IS THE BARBERSHOP.

THEY RECEIVED AN AWARD FOR THE BEST COMMERCIAL BY THE DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION. LEXI WITH THE ECONOMIC AND DEVELOPMENT WAS -- IS SUMMED UP IN THIS QUOTE. THIS IS PULLED FROM THE 2011 WHERE THEY HAD THE GROUP TO SURVEY TO CREATE WHAT WE HAVE NOW VILLAGE OF ROWLETT. DOWNTOWNS REPRESENT THE OLD HOMETOWN MANY OUR CONSCIOUSNESS AND THEREFORE AN EMOTIONAL PULL.

[00:15:01]

PEEK SEEK OUT DOWNTOWNS BECAUSE OF THEIR AMANS AND EXPERIENCE.

THEY WANT EFFICIENCY BUT THEY ALSO WANT TO FEEL PART OF COMMUNITY. I THINK WE HAVE SHOWN COMMUNITY GROW ON THE VILLAGE OF ROWLETT WITH THE EVENTS THAT THE CITY DOES , THE EVENTS APARTMENTERS APARTMENTFARMERS MARKET WE DO.

THERE IS A DEMAND FOR RELATIONSHIP.

IF WE CAN HARVEST THAT, YOU WILL HAVE A THRIVING DOWNTOWN W.

STREW GREEN SPACE BY THE CLOCK TOWER AS A LONG TERM VERSION OF MINI CENTRAL PARK. IT IS A VALUABLE PIECE OF LAND WHICH WE KNOW A DEVELOPER CAN COME IN AND CREATE SOMETHING GREAT. WE BELIEVE IT'S MORE VALUABLE AS IT IS NOW AND IT'S BEEN PROVEN USEFUL IN THE PAST.

THINK OF IT AS A BLANK CANVAS THAT CAN BE UTILIZED FOR SO MUCH MORE. IT'S LIKE A WELCOME MAT OR STARTING POINT TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO COME TO AN EVENT AND STAY TO PATRONIZE BUSINESSES IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA.

WE WERE THINKING ON THE GREENS, STRUCK ART DISPLAYS DO, A MICRO RETAIL POPUP STORE, COMBINE WITH IT CITY EVENTS LIKE VETERANS DAY, MEMORIAL DISPLAY RIGHT THERE OR EVEN THE CARDBOARD EVENT, WHAT IF YOU HAD CARDBOARD WORKSHOP? YOU COULD USE IT FOR NONPROFIT USE.

I KNOW SOMETIMES THERE ARE ISSUES WITH WHEN THE KID GET OUT OF ROWLETT HIGH, THERE IS A LOT OF.

>> LEN: ING. WHY DON'T WE TURN IT INTO A PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITY AND HAVE A NONPROFIT CREATE SOMETHING ON THE GREENS THAT COULD WITHB UTILIZED AS AN ACTIVITY.

GROUP EXERCISE, CROSS FIT OR YOGA OR THEATER.

I'VE SEEN SOME CITIES DO RADIO THEATER OUT IN THE GREENS.

AND THIN IT CAN BE SUPPORTED THROUGH SPONSORSHIP.

IF YOU HAD A SHORT TERM SPONSORSHIP WHERE COMPANIES HAD THEIR ADVERTISEMENT ON UMBRELLAS OR SEATING OR SOMETHING TO THAT FORECEFFECTS TO ADD AMENITIES TE AREA.

HELP KEEP THE DISTRICT INFORMED. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN THERE IS AN EVENT AFTER HOURS, WE CAN LET THE BUSINESSES KNOW TO STAY OPEN A LITTLE LONGER SO THEY DON'T MISS OPPORTUNITIES.

FOR EXAMPLE, MODERN WELL STAYED OPEN BEYOND THEIR NORMAL HOURS DURING THE CHRISTMAS PARADE. THEY TOOK TWO DAYS WORTH OF SALES IN TWO HOURS. WE ALSO WOULD LOVE TO REACH OUT THE BUSINESSES WITH THE CITY. MAINSTREET IS THE HEART OF THE CITY. IF IT GOES, SO DOES THE REST OF THE TOWN. WE WANT JUST LIKE THE CITY WANTS TO KEEP OUR DISTRICT ACTIVE AND FULL OF LIFE.

SO WITH MENTORSHIPS, CREATING SOME SORT OF JOINT PACKET OR SOMETHING TO HAND OUT TO PERSPECTIVE BUSINESSES, WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE MAYBE EVERY SIX MONTHS A NEW BUSINESS COMING ON TO MAINSTREET ORB JUST THE DISTRICT.

THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. FUTURE WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE EVEN A MAINSTREET MANAGER. WE TALKED TO THE ROCKWELL MAINSTREET MANAGER AND PICKED HER ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO.

WE THINK THAT WOULD STREAMLINE A LOT OF THE UNCERTAINTY BETWEEN

THE GROUPS. >> A CITY EMPLOYEE?

>> YES. AND SO BASICALLY A LOT OF OUR RESEARCH THAT WE'RE FOCUSING ON IS MAKING IT BE KIND OF A CENTER POINT THAT CAN SPREAD OUT. THE STATISTICS ARE 1/4 OF A MILE A PERSON IS WILLING TO TRAVEL. IF YOU MAKE THAT THE FOCAL POINT WHERE THE GREENS IS, THAT ENDS UP AROUND THE METHODIST CHURCH AREA. IF WE TIE IN WITH HER FORD PARK AND MAKE IT SO THERE IS A BREAD CRUMBS FOR THEM TO STAY AT SOMETHING AND THEN EXTEND ON, WE CAN MAKE THE DISTRICT FROM ROWLETT ROAD TO GEORGE BUSH AND MAKE IT LIVELY ALL THE WAY

THROUGH. >> THAT'S BEEN THE VISION.

>> YEAH. ABSOLUTELY.

>> WE'RE GETTING THERE. >> AND WE APPRECIATE THAT.

>> WE WANT TO BEABLE TO HELP WITH THAT PART OF IT WITH OUR

ASSOCIATION. >> AT LEAST HAVE A SINGLE VOICE OF SOME KIND THIS YOU COULD USE AS A REFERENCE FOR ALL THE BUSINESSES ON MAIN AND SAY THIS IS THE HEART BEAT OR PULSE OF WHAT IS GOING ON WITH SOME OF THE BUSINESSES.

>> ANY Y QUESTIONS YOU HAVE FORS RIGHT NOW?

>> I WILL SAY THIS, I WAS ONE OF THOSE THAT THE INITIAL VISION WAS THAT ONE OR BOTH OF THOSE LOTS WOULD BE SOLD TO GENERATE

[00:20:03]

ACTIVITY DOWNTOWN. AND I'VE BEEN PRETTY ADD MEANT WE NEED TO DO THAT. I HAVE A COMPLETE DIFFERENT OPINION NOW. I LOVE THE GREEN.

I THINK IT'S SITE TOLL DOWNTOWN. I'VE CHANGED MY MIND.

>> GOOD. >> I AGREE.

>> GREAT PRESENTATION. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

REALLY GOOD IDEAS. COUNCIL QUESTIONS BEFORE WE OR?

>> GREAT. GLAD THAT YOU GUYS HAVE GOT ON THE NO THIS POINT. I KNOW IT'S BEEN A STRUGGLE AND LONG TIME COMING TO THIS POINT. SO EXCITED THAT IT'S GOTTEN THERE. I LOVE THE THOUGHT PROCESS YOU GUYS HAVE PUT INTO THIS AND THE IDEAS.

I THINK YOU CAN SEE HOWTA COLLABORATION WORKS WITH THE CITY W THE BENEFITS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMING IN WITH THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. I THINK THE HALLOWEEN ONE WAS INSANE. THE NUMBERS WAS FANTASTIC.

AND THEN THE CHRISTMAS PARADE KEEPS GETTING BIGGER AND BETTER.

BUT I DO SEE THERE IS THAT DISCONNECT IN THE MARKETING OF DOWNTOWN. KIND OF WHAT I'M HOPING WE CAN DO NOW THAT WE HAVE THIS GROUP THAT HAS PULLED TOGETHER AND A LITTLE MORE ORGANIZED AND HAS DIRECTION, I LOVE THE IDEA OF A MARKET, MANAGER. LOOK AT WHEELLESS IS DOING WITH THE VITALITY. TO START TO BE ABLE TO BE SURE% THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND THOSE TWO DEPARTMENTS YOU ARE DOING AND WHAT THE CITY IS DOING ANOT WORKING AGAINST EACH OTHER BUT IN CONCERT TOGETHER. I THINK THAT IS THAT NEXT LOGICAL STEP IS TO START WORKING THROUGH ASTUFF AND SEE WHAT WE CAN PUSH FORWARD. GLAD YOU GUYS ARE ORGANIZED AN MOVING FORWARD AND SEE GREAT THINGS AHEAD FOR DOWNTON.

>> DO WE STILL HAVE A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DOWNTOWN --

THE TEXAS DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION? >> THEY OFFER DOWNTOWN ASSESSMENTS WITH PROFESSIONALS. AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO SINCE WE'RE A MEMBER, ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ENGAGE THEM AND THEY'LL BRING OUT PEOPLE TO ACTUALLY DO A FULL STUDY ON OUR DOWNTOWN AND TELL US WHAT IS MISSING, WHAT DO WE NEED WHACKER DO YOU NEED TO , WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BESUCCESS. A LONG TERM PLAN.

I WOULD LOOK INTO THAT. ROCKWELL HAS BEEN HELPFUL.

>> HAVE YOU GUYS SPOKE WITHIN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ABOUT

TAKING ON THAT WEBSITE? >> IS THERE AN ISSUE WITH THAT OR WHO WILL MANAGE IT IF YOU WERE TO TURN TO THE ASSOCIATION,

HOW WOULD THAT WORK? >> WE WERE THINKING OF IT AS THE POSSIBLY IDEAL THAT WOULD FREE UP ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO FOCUS ON BIG PROJECTS AND LET US MICRO MANAGE THE DISTRICT.

BUT THE DETAILS OF WHICH WE HAVE NOT SORTED OUT.

>> WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COME TO OUR MEETING. WHEN I WAS ON THE CHAMBER BOARD WE WOULD GET AN UPDATE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON.

I THINK WE NEED TO HAVE THAT AND WE'D LOVE JIM TO BE PART OF THAT. WE NEED TO ALL GET TOGETHER AND

HAVE OPEN COMMUNICATION. >> I AGREE.

>> WE HAVE THE CAPACITY TO MANAGE THE PAGE.

WE TOTALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO MAINTAIN THE PAGE REALLY PROFESSIONALLY AND IN COLLABORATION WITH WHAT IS THETH CITY DOING AND THE EVENTS BEING HELD, NOT JUST ON WHAT WE'RE

DOING. >> I LIKE THE WAY THE PAGE WAS MANAGED BEFORE. IT WAS REALLY WELL PUT TOGETHER.

THE PAGE AND WEBSITE. >> WE NEED TO SIT DOWN AND FIGURE OUT TO POTENTIALLY INTEGRATE.

>> HAVE Y'ALL THOUGHT ABOUT HAVING A COUNCIL LIE I LIASON

COME TO OUR MEETS? >> WE'D LOVE IT.

>> I THINK IT WOULD BE HELPFUL. >> I AGREE.

>> AND I DIDN'T MENTION -- >> SEND A LIASON.

>> I WANT TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE INTERESTED.

>> WE'D LOVE IT. >> YES.

[00:25:03]

>> WE'LL TALK AMONGST OURSELVES UNLESS YOU WANT TO PUBLICLY PICK

ONE RIGHT NOW. >> WHAT DID YOU WANT TO SAY?

>> I DON'T THINK IT SHOULD BE ANY ONE OF US.

I THINK WE SHOULD ROTATE. >> THAT'S FINE.

I JUST WANT IT TO BE COVERED. >> TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT.

>> IF THEY ARE HAVING BREAKFAST, PAM AND I WILL GO.

>> WOULD YOU TAKE OWNERSHIP OF ROTATING AND INVITING COUNCIL TO

YOUR MONTHLY MEETING. >> YES, I WILL.

>> I'LL MAKE SURE WE INVITE ONE OF Y'ALL TO BE THERE.

>> THANK YOU. APPRECIATE I LIKED IT WHEN IT WAS THE THREE —-DASH WOULD YOU LIKE THE

FLOOR? >> TWO THINGS I HAD, ONE WAS THERE OUR GRANDSON THINGS THAT YOU CAN APPLY FOR SO HAVE YOU LOOKED AT ANY OF THOSE THAT WOULD HELP YOU WITH POTENTIAL FUNDING FOR SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO

DOWNTOWN? >> THAT MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO LOOK AT THE TEXAS DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION.

>> THAT'S ONE THING THEY TOLD US ABOUT THESE SITES TO GO ON AND LOOK. WE HAVEN'T GOT ON THEM YET.

WE DO KNOW THEY ARE AWARE OF THAT AND PLAN ON DOING THAT, Y

YES. >> THE OTHER THING THAT WAS STRIKING TO ME THAT YOU HAD MENTIONED NAMING CONFUSION.

SO, IS THAT SOMETHING THAT YOU NEED COUNSEL TO HELP WITH?

IS THAT SOMETHING WE NEED -- >> THE SIGNAGE.

>> SO THAT WAS SPECIFIC TO THE SIGNAGE.

>> THAT'S A BUDGET ISSUE SO WE NEED TO LOOK AT THAT IN THE

STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION. >> IS THAT THE SAME PROPOSAL YOU

ARE TALKING ABOUT. >> IT WAS SIGNAGE AND COLOR SCHEME SO THAT WHEN YOU WERE IN THE DISTRICT, YOU KNEW.

>> SO THEY'VE ALREADY DONE SOME GROUNDWORK ON THAT.

>> YES. >> WE CUT IT OUT OF THE BUDGET.

>> YES. >> EVEN IF WE CAN LOOK AT HOW WE CAN USE THAT TO DRAW INTEREST, DOESN'T HAVE TO BE IMMEDIATE, BUT JUST SOME INITIAL, WHAT COULD WE START WITH.

>> WHITNEY, ARE YOU DONE. >> YES, I YELLED.

>> WHAT WE ARE OUT OF TIME. >> ALL RIGHT, THANK YOU, SO MUCH. GREAT IDEAS, GREAT REASON TATIAN. WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS.

SLOW DOWN. WE HAVE TO ANNOUNCE LUNCH ON THE LAWN WHERE WE ARE BRINGING FOOD TRUCKS DOWNTOWN MONDAYS STARTING MARCH 16, AT LEAST THROUGH APRIL 20, IF YOU MAKE IT REALLY SUCCESSFUL WE CAN EXTEND IT FROM 11:00 A.M. UNTIL 2:00 P.M.

STARTING MARCH 16, COME DOWNTOWN AND PARTAKE IN THE FOOD TRUCKS.

A LOT OF RESTAURANTS ARE CLOSED ON MONDAY SO THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO HAVE IT. PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS

SUCCESSFUL FOR DOWNTOWN. >> YES.

>> I'M PULLING 7G. THANK YOU.

>> NO WORRIES
