I WANTED TO TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO TALK ABOUT WHAT THESE AMENDMENTS TRULY ARE. IN A NUTSHELL, WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE CITY COUNCIL AND THEY'VE INDICATED A DESIRE TO HAVE ADDITIONAL OVERSIGHT AS IT RELATES TO SPECIFIC STANDALONE MULTIFAMILY DEVELOPMENT IN THE FORM-BASED CODE AND TO REQUIRE SPECIAL USE PERMIT MULTIFAMILY USES. THAT IS THE INTENT OF THIS ITEM. I KNOW WE ARE RUNNING SHORT ON TIME SO I WILL TRY TO SUMMARIZE IT AND WE HAVE IN THE FORM-BASED CODE THREE ZONING DISTRICTS THAT COMMIT TO MULTIFAMILY DEVELOPMENT, WHICH IS ACTUALLY REFERRED TO AS MIXED RESIDENTIAL IT AND SO THE ONLY CAVEAT TO THE MOST AMENDMENT HERE IS TO INCLUDED SEP REQUIREMENT . WILL GUIDE AND THE DETAILS OF THE PUBLIC HEARING. IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE THIS CHANGE OR THIS REQUIREMENT, WE AS STAFF ARE PROPOSING TO AMEND SEVERAL SECTIONS IN THE FORM-BASED CODE TO STREAMLINE THE PROCESS AND ENABLE AN SEP REQUIREMENT.HAT YOU NOTICE WE HAVE STATED THAT THE NORTH SHORE WOULD HAVE TO BE AMENDED TOO AND THAT IS TO ACCOMMODATE THE SEP REQUIREMENT AS WELL. SO IN A NUTSHELL, BUT WE ARE ULTIMATELY DOING IS REQUESTING RECOMMENDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FORM-BASED CODES TO REQUIRE SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR MULTIFAMILY USES. NOTICE OF THIS WAS SENT OUT TO EVERYBODY WITHIN THE NORTH SHORE. AS A COURTESY AS WELL WITHIN THE 500 FOOT NOTIFICATION RADIUS FOR THE COURSE WITHIN THE NORTH SHORE AND WAS IN THE 200 FOOT NOTIFICATION. AND THAT WAS TO SOLICIT THEIR INPUT AND MORE IMPORTANTLY TO LET THEM KNOW THIS IS A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO READ AGAIN, NO ZONING BOUNDARIES ARE BEING CHANGED, NO ZONING DISTRICTS ARE BEING CHANGED.
